Positive Solutions for Families Workshops

Linking Families and Communities is now accepting registrations for our winter Positive Solutions for Families Workshops.  The workshops are part of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports framework that is used in area child care settings, preschools and schools.  These 6 session workshops are designed for parents of young children (ages 2-8 years) who want to promote positive behavior, reduce challenging behavior and improve their relationship with their child.

Parents will learn:

• The importance of building relationships with their children.
• New methods and strategies to help your hcild follow directions.
• Effective ways to develop and teach household rules.
• New strategies to cope with problem behavior.

Classes are FREE and food and child care are provided!

Incredible Years Parenting Classes

Children and Families of Iowa offer a series of parenting classes that utilize the Incredible Years Parenting Curriculum.  This program provides age appropriate strategies and tools to address the developmental needs of the children.

Classes will be offered two times each year in Calhoun, Pocahontas and Webster counties.  Classes are held weekly for 6 weeks at no cost to participants.
